The Wild Atlantic

Another great day in Ireland! We kicked off the day by experiencing another great lecture from Lisa about Irish literature. I’ve been seeing more and more of where the ‘fighting Irish’ comes from!

Next, we went to look around Inishbofin, a small island off the coast of Ireland, guided by Tommy, a Notre Dame archeologist. As we’ve come to expect from Ireland, we were surrounded by beautiful scenery on all sides. Tommy told us about the history of the island and explained the ruins we saw. We now know what an ancient sheep dip looks like!

We got off the ferry and took a bus back to Kylemore, where we eagerly enjoyed a delicious meal, concluded by the chocolate mousse we made yesterday. Shoutout to teams 3 and 5, who came first and second respectively!

We capped off the night with some Karaoke. Disney songs and pop songs, slow songs and fast songs, Mamma Mia and Country Road— you name it, we sang it terribly! It was a great way to wrap up a great day that went by too fast. Ireland is incredible!!

(Thanks to Cecily Cronin and Rosemary Delamater for their contributions!)
