To start our day, we walked over to the Notre Dame Gateway and had class with the gateway director, Kevin. We learned about Irish identify and independence, and the history of Ireland’s relationship with Great Britain. Whether it be militaristic, literary, artistic, or cultural, Ireland has been set apart from the rest of the UK throughout time.

After class we took an hour bus ride to Glendalough, a valley in an Irish national park which contains two lakes and a hiking trail looping around. We spent a good three hours going up and down a  mountain, ending the hike with some ice cream and sore feet.

To end the day, we are an exquisite three course dinner with some members of the Notre Dame Gateway, and tiredly walked back to our dorms to sleep.

Thanks to Will Truluck and Cate Rudge walking us through Wicklow. Tune in tomorrow for a recap of our day in Dublin!
